The game of soccer is a fluid, ever changing entity that dictates to all levels
of competition and all subsequent soccer organizations how to respond to the
game and it’s demands. The game is always seeking higher limits and pressing the
most competitive levels of soccer to evolve. Moreover, there is a constant
common denominator within the world of soccer, the recreational level player and
recreational soccer atmosphere. This level is least affected by any evolution in
soccer; however, the highest levels of travel soccer constantly have to adapt to
the evolution of the game.
Thus, the mission of East Meadow Soccer Club is to provide opportunities to all
levels of soccer players, from the recreational player, to the mid-level travel
player, and on up to the players who aspire to be challenged at the elite levels
of youth soccer. So as an organization we are tasked with organizing the entire
entity with all of these demands in perspective. We provide infrastructure and
fields for our intramural players; we offer resources and experts in the game of
soccer to the mid-level and elite level players and teams, and we provide
hundreds of volunteer man-hours to keep the whole endeavor organized, so the
membership does not have to spend the time doing so.
Moreover, this is why you see the “Game of Soccer” at the top of the hierarchy.
Because the game is at the top, anyone can then see how the remainder of the
EMSC has to be organized. Now, because it is a non-profit and volunteer
organization it is run with the sole intent to provide the best environments
possible for the players. Overall, any soccer club is one of the toughest
organizations to run properly and with no problems. The EMSC is spending time
reorganizing the structure and infrastructure of the club as you read this
passage so to minimize the challenges associated with running a soccer club.
Hence, the East Meadow Soccer Club set out to hire a full time Director of
Coaching. As youth soccer demands reach the highest of heights, since the
inception of soccer in our country, this profession of full-time professional
coaches has evolved within youth soccer. As the demands of the game progressed,
so then did the demands for the skill sets necessary to educate players, and
parents, on the beast that is youth soccer in the USA. Thus, professionals are
required to organize a soccer club so that most, and hopefully all the decisions
made, are for the benefit of the players to best enjoy this wonderful game.
Sincerely,
Jeff Gross
