The East Meadow Soccer Club will be holding the
2nd Annual Melissa's Rainbow of Joy Pre-Travel Soccer Tournament on May
22nd and 23rd, 2010 The Tournament benefits the Melissa's Rainbow of Joy
Foundation. The 2009 event
raised over $9,000 which was donated to Melissa's Rainbow of Joy.
Melissa's Rainbow of Joy
was founded in 2006 to honor the memory of Melissa Joy Siegel, a former
player in the East Meadow Soccer Club whose life was tragically cut
short in a tragic alcohol related car crash. The mission of Melissa's
Rainbow of Joy Foundation is to advance drunk driving awareness efforts
through established organizations such as MADD & SADD. The foundation
also awards scholarships to student athletes exhibiting the leadership
and charismatic qualities that Melissa is remembered for.
