Number of Games
Q: How many games will we get to play?
A:
All teams are guaranteed 5 games, unless you are in the
Covanta Cup Flight for the High School Divisions.
Price
Q: How much is the tournament application fee?
A:
In recognition of the difficult financial times the
price has not changed from last year and is as follows:
U8 and U9 $495; U10 and U11 $595; U12 and above $695.
Deadline
Q.
What is the deadline?
A:
The deadline, which was July 15 is being extended to
August 1 to give new teams forming the chance to apply.
It is highly recommended that teams apply as soon as
possible because each year teams have to be turned away.
Q: I
can't remember our team's record for the last two
tournaments we entered. Can we submit an application
without that?
A:
Yes. The seasonal record and tournament record, though,
help us make sure we place your team with peers at the
same level of competition.
Q:
My spring U-12 team will be U-13 in the fall. What age
group are we for registration purposes?
A:
As of August 1, 2009, all teams move up one age group.
So the U12 Spring 2009 team will become U13 and should
register for the U13 age group.
Q:
OK, so it's D-Day for tournament registrations. Are
registrations closed?
A:
Please feel free to submit your team's application. Late
registrations cannot be guaranteed a spot in the
tournament. If your team's age group is filled, for
example, your team's application fee will be returned.
Once your team is accepted, no refunds will be provided.
We will place late registrations on a waiting list. It
is very possible that your team can
still get in if we need to even out divisions, but again
this is not guaranteed. We will guarantee placement
only if you register before July 15 and provided we can
place your team in a competitive bracket.
Q:
My team's coach will be coaching another team in the
tournament. Will you
make sure he can be at both team's games?
A:
Due to the complexity of scheduling 400 teams we cannot
guarantee that we can accommodate your request. We
will do our very best to accommodate a coach who's
coaching two teams.

Medical Release Forms
Q: Do medical release forms have to be notarized?
A:
NO. ENYSSA does not require this. However it is a good
idea to have them notarized. If your team's forms are
notarized already, that's fine. They don't have to be
redone.
Q:
Can I use last year's medical release form?
A:
If the information is still accurate and the signature
is still valid, yes. You may use your own form and you
do not have to use the one provided on our website.
Q:
What if one of my players forgot to bring hers?
A:
Have her parent fill out another one and sign it. Since
it doesn't have to be notarized, that's all you need.
Q:
Can I use the medical release forms we use in our
league?
A:
Yes. As long as the medical release form authorizes
treatment in the absence of the parent/legal guardian,
we're fine with that.
Q:
One of my players observes specific medical practices as
part of his beliefs. Does he have to sign the medical
release form as well?
A:
Certain religious traditions and cultural heritages may
require specific terminology to properly direct
emergency medical personnel. That's OK. Some
traditions may require changes to common authorizations.
Other groups may require special authorizations. As long
as we have signed permission to act on behalf of the
parent/legal guardian if he/she is not present when
treatment is needed, the release form should be
suitable. Check with the tournament director if you're
not sure.
Q: How many guest players can I bring
to the tournament? |
U11 and under are allowed up to 3
guest players.
U12 and above are allowed up to 5
guest players.
Q:
My guest players are from a recreational league team. Do
they need
medical release forms as well?
A:
Yes. Every player in the tournament must have a signed
medical release form.
Q:
What if I don't know whom my guest players will be when
I apply for the
tournament?
A:
When you apply for the tournament, you may not have
received commitments from guest players. Your team may
not have completed tryouts. Some players
may decide to leave your team after you apply. That's
OK. Your team roster is not considered final until the
coaches Tournament Registration night, generally the
Friday night of Tournament weekend.
Q:
What if my state registrar hasn't returned my official,
state-approved
roster by the evening of the tournament check-in?
A:
You're in trouble. Bottom line: PLAN AHEAD! Most state
registrars make
plans to process rosters for teams playing pre-season
tournaments AHEAD of
teams that are not playing in pre-season tournaments.
Contact your league's
club representative to be sure you know when your team's
roster has to be
submitted to the state registrar so it can be processed
and returned to you
in time for check-in at the Coaches Registration.
Q:
Obviously, my guest players are not on the official,
state-approved roster. What do I need to do to prepare
for Tournament Check-in?
A:
You will need to bring the guest players pass from their
team; a guest player form signed and approved by the
guest player’s club, your club and LIJSL0.
Q:
One of my players wants to be a guest player on another
team that he's trying out for. We want him to play for
us, too. Is that OK?
A:
NO!! Each player can be presented as a player on one
(and ONLY one) team in the tournament. If he's on YOUR
team's roster, he CAN NOT be a guest
player on another team in the tournament.
Q:
One of my guest players is a recreational league player,
but she's always been allowed to play "down" in our
local rec. league. Can she play "down" in the
tournament?
A:
NO!! Each team must play in the age group of the oldest
player on the team. No exceptions will be granted.
However recreational players can Guest on a travel
team of their own proper age group with the proper Guest
Player playing Travel forms.

Game Cards
Q: What do I do with the game cards?
A:
Because our tournament has grown so large, we don't have
enough field marshals to supervise each and every game.
As a result, the winning team
MUST get the game card from the referee and return it to
the site field coordinator before leaving the venue.
Q:
What if I can't find the site coordinator?
A:
It's your job to find her. Remember: Scores that are not
properly reported will impact your team's standing in
the tournament. You must return
the game card to the site coordinator to make sure that
results are recorded accurately. There is a Field
Marshall at each and every site; someone from the
tournament will always be at the score table to receive
your game card.
Q:
My team's coach stormed off the field in a huff. What do
I do now?
A:
Make sure that you contact the site coordinator and the
tournament committee. It's critical to get the final
result from the referee BEFORE everyone leaves the
venue.

Some will have portable toilets.

Will there be food and drink concessions avail at all

or where local authorities forbid it.

A. All players that attend and participate in the event
must be registered Team members in their home clubs.
All clubs are duly insured by their associations and
must be affiliated with USYSA or the corresponding
Canadian or any other International Youth Soccer
Federations. These entities process the permission to
travel forms for the teams, which insures that they are
covered by their insurances for purposes of
participating in our tournament.

Q. Should we wear our team uniforms or will jerseys be
provided?
A. Please bring your team uniforms. On the off chance
